Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 July 2026. We may update this policy from time to time; the date shown here reflects the latest version.
Welcome to Virtus Academy. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Virtus Academy website at virtusacademy.co.uk and all of the free educational resources, worksheets, mark schemes, and other materials we make available (together, the “Site” and the “Resources”). Please read them carefully. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who we are
Virtus Academy provides free GCSE revision resources for students, parents, and teachers. You can contact us at any time athello@virtusacademy.co.uk. Virtus Academy is operated separately from our tutoring service, Virtus Tutors (virtustutors.com), which is a separate service with its own terms.
2. Using our Resources — what you may and may not do
Our Resources are free, and we want them to be used and shared. To keep them free, the Site is funded by advertising, so the way our Resources are shared matters to us. Please read this section carefully, as it sets out exactly what is and is not allowed.
You may:
- Access, view, download, and print our worksheets, mark schemes, and other Resources for your own personal study, revision, and non-commercial educational use.
- Use our Resources in a classroom or tutoring setting to teach or support students, including printing copies for your own students.
- Freely share links to our pages. Linking to any page on virtusacademy.co.uk — on social media, in a message, on a school website, in a blog post, or anywhere else — is welcome and encouraged. Sharing the link (rather than the file) is always the right way to point someone to our Resources.
You may not:
- Re-host, re-upload, redistribute, or share the Resource files themselves (for example the PDF worksheets and mark schemes) on any other website, platform, cloud drive, messaging service, learning platform, or app. If you want to share a Resource with someone, share the link to the page it lives on, not the file.
- Sell, license, rent, or otherwise commercially exploit our Resources, or include them (in whole or in part) in any product or service that is sold or paid for.
- Modify, adapt, rebrand, or create derivative works from our Resources, or remove, obscure, or alter any Virtus Academy branding, logos, watermarks, or notices.
- Present our Resources as your own work or the work of anyone other than Virtus Academy.
- Use automated systems (such as bots, scrapers, or crawlers) to download, copy, or harvest our Resources or content in bulk.
In short: the Resources are free to use and free to link to, but the files themselves are ours and should not be redistributed. Sharing a link sends people to our Site; sharing a file does not — and links are how we are able to keep everything free.
3. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including the worksheets, mark schemes, questions, answers, text, design, layout, branding, logos, and the “Virtus Academy” name — is owned by or licensed to Virtus Academy and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited personal and educational use permitted in Section 2, no rights are granted to you in any of our content. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
If you believe any content on the Site infringes your rights, please contact us at hello@virtusacademy.co.uk and we will look into it promptly.
4. No guarantees — Resources are provided “as is”
We work hard to make our Resources accurate, useful, and aligned with the relevant exam specifications. However:
- Our Resources are provided for revision and educational support only. They are not official exam board materials, and they arenot a substitute for your official specification, your school or college teaching, or professional advice.
- We do not guarantee that the Resources are free from errors or omissions, and we do not guarantee any particular exam result, grade, or outcome from using them.
- Exam specifications change over time. You are responsible for checking our Resources against the current specification for your exam board and tier.
- The Site and Resources are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Always check with your teacher, school, or exam board if you are unsure about anything, and treat our Resources as one helpful tool among many.
5. Advertising and third-party links
The Site is funded by advertising, including ads served by Google and its partners. Ads and sponsored content are clearly part of the browsing experience, and your use of the Site is subject to the cookie and consent choices described in our Privacy Policy andCookie Policy.
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services, including our own tutoring service, Virtus Tutors. We are not responsible for the content, products, services, or privacy practices of any third-party site, and a link does not imply our endorsement. Any dealings you have with third parties are solely between you and that third party.
6. Availability of the Site
We aim to keep the Site available and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may add, change, suspend, or remove any part of the Site or any Resource at any time without notice. We are not liable to you if the Site or any Resource is unavailable at any time or for any period.
7. Who can use the Site
Our Resources are aimed at students, including those under the age of 18, as well as parents and teachers. If you are under 18, you should use the Site with the awareness of a parent, guardian, or teacher. You do not need to create an account or provide personal details to access our Resources. Please see our Privacy Policy for how we handle information.
8. Acceptable use
When using the Site, you agree not to: use it in any unlawful way or for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, or any connected systems; introduce viruses or other harmful material; interfere with the proper working of the Site; or place excessive load on our infrastructure through automated means. We may restrict or withdraw access to anyone who misuses the Site.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Virtus Academy will not be liable for any loss or damage — whether direct, indirect, or consequential — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or the Resources, or from any reliance placed on their content, including any impact on exam performance or results.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for anything that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Site, our Resources, or the law. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after any change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or your use of the Site, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
